A RESOLUTION COMMENDING <br /> JIM THEISEN <br /> FOR HIS EFFORTS IN RELATION TO A PERSONAL INJURY CRASH <br /> IN THE CITY OF ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 6116 <br /> WHEREAS, on January 26, 2012, at 1743 hours, the Orono Police and <br /> Long Lake Fire Department received a call of a personal injury crash in the 3000 <br /> block of North Shore Drive in the City of Orono; and <br /> WHEREAS, upon impact with a tree the vehicle started on fire; and <br /> WHEREAS, Jim Theisen came across the crash shortly after it had <br /> occurred; and <br /> WHEREAS, Jim Theisen attempted to wake the unconscious male from <br /> the severely damaged vehicle and when the fire could not be put out, Jim pulled <br /> the driver from the car as the fire grew and came closer to them; and <br /> WHEREAS, Jim Theisen pulled the driver to safety and relayed vital <br /> information to responding officers; and <br /> WHEREAS, had Jim Theisen not pulled the unconscious driver from the <br /> burning vehicle, the driver may have perished. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Orono City <br /> Council does hereby commend Jim Theisen for his care and concern for the safety <br /> and well-being of others; and does also extend sincere appreciation to him, on <br /> behalf of the Orono City Council, the Orono Police Department, the Long Lake <br /> Fire Department, and the citizens of this community. <br /> Adop�ted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting <br /> held this 27t day of February, 2012. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> ���`f d- l/� � <br /> Linda S.
