RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
WHEREAS,the city is generally authorized to accept donations pursuant to Minnesota Statutes
§ 465.03 et seq. for the benefit of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Brian Gerhardson wishes to make a donation to the city of Orono ("city") of eight
public works and first responder flags as well as a donation in the amount of$3,300 for the purchase
of flags, brackets, etc. This donation is being made in memory of his brother, who was a seasonal
worker for Orono parks and golf course.
WHEREAS,the donation has been contributed to the city for the benefit of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes § 465.03 et seq. requires that all gifts and donations of real or
personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body by two-
thirds of its members.
WHEREAS,the city desires to accept the donation;and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council accepts the donations and as
agreed and as allowed by law.
FURTHER, staff will acknowledge the receipt of the donation.
Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held on July 8, 2024.
