HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 6416 . � �O� V� C ITY OF ORONO �ESOLUTION OF T'HE CITY COUNCIL y ,� ..�+ �' G` N o. �� 6 �qkssxo��' A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION BY THE MINNESOTA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY BOARD OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WORKSHEET FOR "LAKEVIEW RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT" 405 North Arm Drive (AKA Lakeview Golf Course) Property Identification Numbers: 06-117-23-32-0003; 06-117-23-33-0005; 06-117-23-33-0007; 06-117-23-34-0002; and 07-117-23-12-0001 WHEREAS, the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") is a municipal corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, in September 2013 the City received an application for a residential development proposing to convert the Lakeview Golf Course from Park, Recreational and Open Space to Rural Residential; and WHEREAS, the subject property is generally described as: Portions of the SW '/4 of Sec. 06, T. 117., R. 23, portions of the SW '/4 of the SE '/4 of Sec, 06, T. 117., R. 23, and 1.29 acres of the NW 1/4 of the NE '/4 of Sec. 07, T. 117., R. 23; and WHEREAS, in January of 2014, the Orono City Council adopted Resolution No. 6360, approving the proposed change to the Community Management Plan, subject to approval by Metropolitan Council; and WHEREAS, the Orono City Council found that an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) was called for to examine the conversion from Golf Course to Rural Residential, consistent with Minnesota Rules Section 4410.4300, Subpart 36; and WHEREAS, an EAW report has been prepared analyzing the potential environmental impacts of the proposed conversion, including potential mitigation of any such impacts; and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Rules provide for official publication and a public comment period of at least thirty(30) days from official publication; and WHEREAS, the EAW report is ready for such publication and comment. '� 4 � V kESH� NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council directs staff to publish the EAW report and initiate the public comment period in accordance with Minnesota Rules, Section 4410.1500 and 4410.1600.
