TRANSPORTATION LETTER
`Vle are pleased to get an opportunity to comment
upon the tentative transportation map proposal
for possi'-'.e Hennepin County Lake Minnetonka
Committee decision. the proposed designation of
;;15 and 119 as arterials is, in fact, at variance
with Orono's Comprehensive Plan and also with much
o: the committee findings. Ile know you understand
our concerns in this matter and our desire for
the designation of County Road 015 as a scenic
parkcaay. This letter is for the purpose of calling
attention to the fact that the proposed map does
rot_ =gree in many aspects with Orono's transportation
nesds, standards or with our prior convers:.tions
=,gardir_g the scenic parkway concept.
Coun7ilman Paurus has kept us info-.med regarding
40 tho comm4.ttee work and its conceptuE_1 endorsement
c:,_ the Ring Route concept. We would hope that the
fi_ai_l result will reflect this concept- in road
_4M -novo rnant projects and we await your written
c.onf irmation of these concepts."
Councilman Paurus left the meet;_ng at 9:50 P.M.
iiyor Searles stated that Orono's land use policies
:peen approved by the iietro Cou.lcil and
adopted by the Planning Commission and the City
of 0:_ono. We do need assurances that the
i'_cronoiitan Council and other agencies will
adhere to the adopted guidelines.

`llany thanks for affording us the opportunity to
c•:•:change views at the meeting November 19th. A

issues of the Metro and municipal concern.
`-Lhe Orono Council has a -':ed me to reconfirm our
6-_scnssion regarding the Development Plan and the
