HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 640 & 641ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 23, 1975 As we review the request for acquisition of the subject trunk sewer as a metropolitan facility, we request that the City of Orono permit the 0 -` continued availability of sanitary sewer service to the City of Minnetonka Beach in accordance with the approved CSP. A rental agreement with the Commission or the City of Minnetonka Beach could be executed to provide this interim need. The total volume of this sewage flow will be deducted from the Orono sewage flow and assigned to Minnetonka Beach." Mr. McCombs introduced a joint use rental agreement drafted by the Metro Council and recommended by the City Engineer to be exercised by Orono to implement an agreement whereas the Metro Board agrees to pay Orono rental for the use, operation and maintenance of its interceptor, trunk and lift stations serving Minnetonka Beach until Metro has finalized the purchase agreement. Paurus moved, Massengale seconded, to adopt Resolution #640 entering into a joint use rental agreement with the Metro Sewer Board, instructing the Mayor and Administrator to sign and expedite same. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . Paurus moved, Butler seconded, to instruct the City staff to notify Minnetonka Beach that they _ may connect to the Orono sewer lines after final execution of the joint use rental agreement by the Metro Council. If there is significant delay by the Metro Council to act on this agreement, when the sewer lines in Minnetonka Beach are ready for domestic use, it is agreed by the representatives of Minnetonka Beach that they will enter into a rental agreement with Orono for reimbursement until such time that the interceptor purchase is completed. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). Paurus moved, Massengale seconded, to adopt Resolution #641, instructing the Mayor and Administrator to negotiate and sign an agreement with the City of Minnetonka Beach to maintain Minnetonka Beach's five miles of sewer lines and four lift stations. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) Butler moved, Searles seconded, that the City Council will meet Thursday, October 2, 1975 at 7:30 P.M. to adopt the 1976 Budget and act on other City business that is at hand.
