RESOLUTION SUPPORTING REQUEST FOR
DESIGNATION OF ORONO SEWER AS METRO-
POLITAN INTERCEPTOR.
WHEREAS, a certain sanitary sewer system presently
flowing through the City of Orono and serving its residents
was designed with capacity to serve all of the City of
Minnetonka Beach, which city is also of a land area greater
than 75 acres and which is completely surrounded by the
City of Orono, and
WHEREAS, that sanitary sewer system was constructed
prior to 1970, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the approved Comprehensive Sewer
Plan the sanitary sewer will serve as an interceptor sewer
for the sewer system constructed in Minnetonka Beach, and
will flow through Orono to Metropolitan Sewer facilities,
and
• WHEREAS, the City of Minnetonka Beach has no other
economic or effective method of connecting to the Metropolitan
Sewer System,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Orono
requests the sanitary gravity sewers, forcemains, lift
stations and appurtenances which traverse through Orono from
the City of Minnetonka Beach to the Metropolitan Sewer
facilities be designated a metropolitan interceptor and
purchased from the City of Orono by the Metropolitan Council
and Metropolitan Sewer Board. Further that, the above -
referenced sanitary gravity sewers, forcemains, lift stations
and appurtenances have been installed by the City of Orono
at its own expense and have the capacity to provide service
to the City of Minnetonka Beach in accordance with approved
Comprehensive Sewer Plans.

24th day of June , 1975.
