ORDINANCE NO. 218
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-36
OF THE ORONO CITY CODE
CONCERING THE MAYOR'S TERM OF OFFICE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Section 2-36 of the Orono City Code is amended by deleting the
strikethrough language and adding the underlined language as follows:
Sec. 2-36. - Terms of office.
The mayor shall be elected for a�e four-year term . Two
members of the city council other than the mayor shall be elected for four-year terms at each
biennial city election. The mayor and councilmembers shall take office on January 1 next
following the election.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be effective January 31, 2019.
ADOPTED this l Oth day of December, 2018, by the City Council of the City of Orono.
