AMENDING ORONO MUNICIPAL CODE
CHAPTER 78, THE ORONO ZONING CODE,
BY ADDING SECTION 78-1379
ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SYSTEMS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on December 9, 2013, Ordinance No. 119, Third
Series, was adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that, because of the lengthy nature of Ordinance No.
119 , Third Series, the following summary of the ordinance has been prepared for publication.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the ordinance adopted by the Council amends
Chapter 78 of the Orono City Code by adding Section 78-1379 entitled Alternative Energy
Systems. The ordinance addresses the scope, purpose and intent of the ordinance, provides
pertinent definitions, and establishes standards for the design, location, and use of Ground
Source Heat Pump Systems, Solar Energy Systems, Wind Energy Conversion Systems, and
Hydronic Furnaces within the City of Orono.
A printed copy of the complete ordinance is available for inspection by any person during
the City's regular office hours.
APPROVED for publication by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota this
9th day of December, 2013.
