HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd #107-3rd Ser/Summary of Ord #106 for publication SUMMARY ORDINANCE NO. la� , THIRD SERIES CITY OF ORONO HENNEPIN COUNTY,MINNESOTA AN ORDINANCE ADDING AND AMENDING SECTIONS OF ORONO CITY CODE CHAPTER 78,THE ORONO ZONING CODE, REGARDING ACCESSORY USES AND STRUCTURES AND REPEALING THE MORATORIUM ENACTED IN ORDINANCE NO. 96, THIRD SERIES NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on June 10, 2013, Ordinance No. 107 Third Series, was adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota. NOTICE IS FURTI3ER GIVEN that, because of the lengthy nature of Ordinance No. 106, Third Series, the following summary of the ordinance has been prepared for publication. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the ordinance adopted by the Council amends Chapter 78 of the Orono City Code. This ordinance amends the title of Chapter 78, Article XI, Division 3 to read "Accessory Buildings and Structures". The ordinance adds Section 78-201 titled Interpretation and Application of Zoning District Uses. The ordinance amends the listings of Accessory Uses within Sections 78-229, 78-254, 78-304, 78-329. 78-349, 78-368, 78-394, 78- 419, and 78-443. The ordinance amends the preamble language of Sections 78-625, 87-645, 78- 667, 78-706, 78-735, 78-765, 78-796, and 78-824. The ordinance amends Section 78-1 by adding, deleting or amending certain definitions; amends Section 78-1279 regarding placement of structures on lakeshore lots; amends Section 78-1281 regarding water-oriented structures; amends the provisions regarding height of structures in Section 78-1366; adds Section 78-1378 regarding Communication Reception/Transmission Devices; amends Section 78-1404 regarding standards for certain accessory structures; amends Section 78-1405 regarding non- encroachments on yard and height requirements; amends Section 78-1433 regarding height restrictions for accessory structures; amends Section 78-1434 regarding size limitations on accessory structures; and amends Section 78-1435 regazding location of accessory buildings. Further, the ordinance repeals the moratorium prohibiting the establislunent of certain accessory uses or structures in residential districts that was enacted via Ordinance 96, Third Series in November, 2012. A printed copy of the complete ordinance is available for inspection by any person during the City's regular office hours.
