Home My WebLink AboutOrd #101-3rd Ser/Summary of Ord #100 SUMMARY ORDINANCE NO. 101, THIRD SERIES CITY OF ORONO HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 78-1, 78-303, 78-328, 78-348, 78-367, 78-394, 78-419, 78-443 AND 78-566 OF THE ORONO MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE REGARDING DEFINITIONS, CONDITIONAL USES AND ACCESSORY USES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO, MINNESOTA ORDAINS: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on February 25, 2013, Ordinance No. 100, Third Series, was adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that, because of the lengthy nature of Ordinance No. 100, Third Series, the following summary of the ordinance has been prepared for publication. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the ordinance adopted by the Council amends Chapter 78 of the Orono City Code. This ordinance amends the Orono Zoning Code Sections 78-303, 78-328, 78-348 and 78-367 by revising language regarding the keeping of farm animals as a conditional use in Lakeshore Residential Zoning Districts. The ordinance further amends the Orono Zoning Code Sections 78-394. 78-419 and 78-443 by revising language regarding the keeping of farm animals as an accessory use in Rural Residential Districts. The Ordinance eliminates references to the need for a conditional use permit for the keeping of farm animals as an accessory use in the RR-1 A, RR-1 B and RR-1 B-1 zoning districts. The Ordinance eliminates provisions for City Council discretion in reducing the required pasture acreage for horses in all Lakeshore Residential and Rural Residential Districts. The ordinance amends the definitions of `Animal unit' and `Pasture' in Section 78-1. Additionally, the Ordinance revises Section 78-566 by correcting a cross-reference to the list of accessory uses in the RS Seasonal Recreational District. A printed copy of the complete ordinance is available for inspection by any person during the City's regular office hours.
