HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd #049-3rd Ser/Re: bldg permit surveys / 4 ♦ ORDINANCE NO. 49, THIRD SERIES CITY OF ORONO HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 86,ARTICLE II,DIVISION I OF THE ORONO,MINNESOTA CITY CODE CONCERNING BUILDING PERMIT SURVEYS The City Council of the City of Orono ordains: SECTION 1. Section 86-68 of the Orono, Minnesota City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 86-68. Permit Application; information required. (a) The application for a construction permit shall include such information as may be required by the city, which may vary between types of�t�gse�e�e�s construction rp ojects. (b) Survevs required: (11 Initial Survev. Anv buildin or general permit application for construction of a new structure or expansion of an existin� structure shall be accompanied by a certificate of surve�prepared bv a Minnesota Re�istered Land Surveyor unless the buildin�official determines the construction project is exemnt from this section. The certificate of surveY shall conform to the standards on file in the office of the building official �2) Foundation survev. A foundation survey shall be submitted to the citv for review and approval, unless exempted bv the building official upon comnletion of the foundation work for all buildings and all additions to buildin�s. The foundation survey�prepared bv a Minnesota Re 'sti� ered Land Surveyor, shall certify the lot dimensions• front side rear lakeshore, and wetland setbacks; and foundation elevation. A foundation survev must be submitted before proceeding with framing or further construction. In lieu of a survev a letter prepared bv a Minnesota Registered Land Surveyor containing the same information as a foundation surve�mav be submitted. (3) As-built survey. An as-built survev prepared bv a Minnesota Re ist�red Land Survevor, shall be submitted to the citv for review and approval upon the completion of all buildin�s and all additions to buildin�s unless exemnted by the building official. The as-built survey shall certifv the final topo�raphv of the site• verifY drainage patterns• and nrovide hardcover calculations for lots in the Shoreland Overlav District An as- built survey must be approved before the issuance of a certificate of occupancv. In the event that weather or other conditions prevent the completion of an as-built survev at the time the Certificate of Occupanc� is reauested, applicant shall provide a sufficient financial guarantee and establish an escrow agreement to ensure completion of the as-built survev . a SECTION 2.
