AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
CfIAPTER 78 OF THE ORONO MUNICIPAL CODE
BY AMENDING SECTIONS 78-1466(8) AND 78-1466(9)
REGARDING SIGNS
The City Couiicil of Orono, Minnesota ordains as follows:
SECTION 1. Muiucipal Zoning Code Section 78-1466, Signs as Accessory Use, Item (8)
Temporary Signs is hereby amended by adding Sub-Item"d."to read as follows:
" Section 78-1466. Signs as accessory use.
(8) Temporary signs.
d. The City may, without notice, remove any temporary sign
erected in violation of this Section or any other federal, state,
or local law or ordinance. Any signs not claimed within 30
days after removal may be destroyed by the City."
SECTION 2. Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-1466, Signs as Accessory Use, Item (9)
Election Signs is hereby amended as follows:
"Section 78-1466. Signs as accessory use.
(9) Election signs. Election signs are permitted on private property in any
district, provided such signs are removed within �A 10 days following
the election as related to the signs. No election sign shall be permitted
in any�district sooner than
�� Au�ust 1 for anv state general election, and no sooner than
two months prior to the election for an election other than a state
general election."
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be effective upon approval and publication.
Adopted by the City Council of Orono on this 13th day of November , 2006 by
a vote of 5 ayes and 0 nays.
