You indicated that you received the first notice a week previous to the site inspection asking you to remove the vehicles "for sale" from your parking lot. The vehicles must be removed by April 28, 1997 or the City will proceed with legal action. Please contact me at the City Offices if you have any questions. Harding 2394 Blaine Avenue Orono, MN 55391 RE: Vehicles for Sale, Kullberg Building, 2389 Blaine Avenue Dear Mr. Harding: As owner of the property at 2389 Blaine Avenue, you have been notified of violations of Orono Municipal Code Section 10.61, Subd. 8, Storage Prohibited - sale of motor vehicles from required off-street parking areas. The City has received complaints regarding this activity on weekends and during the week. The Police will begin monitoring the property during the week and on weekends. Any further violations will result in the issuance of citations for each day you are in violation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at my office. Orono Municipal Code Section 10.61, Subd. 8 Telephone (612) 473-7357 • FAX 473-0510 � 10 .61 Subd. 7, Control of Parking Facil�ties. When required accessory off-street parking facilities are provided elsewhere than on the lot on which the principal use served is located, written authority for using such property for off-street parking shall be filed with the City so as to maintain the required number of off- street parking spaces during the existence of said principal use. No such parking facilities at its closest point shall be located more than 100 feet from the premises nor more than 300 feet from the principal use or building served. Subd. 8. Storage Prohibited. Required off-street parking space in all districts shall not be utilized for open storage of goods or for the storage of vehicles which are inoperable, for lease, rent or sal . � Subd. 9 . Design and Maintenance of Parking Areas . A. Access. Parking areas shall be designed so as to provide an adequate means of access to a public alley or street. Said driveway access shall not exceed thirty feet in width at the public walk center line and shall be so located as to cause the least interference with traffic movement. Al1 off-street parking spaces shall have access off driveways and not directly off of a public street. B. Fractional Spaces. When the determining of the number of required off-street parking spaces results in a fraction, each fraction of one-half or more shall constitute another space. C. Signs. Signs located in any parking area necessary for orderly operation of traffic movement shall be in addition to accessory signs otherwise permitted. D. Surfacing, All of the area intended to be utilized for parking space and driveways for four or more vehicles shall be surfaced with material to control dust and drainage. E. Lighting. If lighting is provided it shall be accomplished in such a manner as to have no direct source of light visible from the public right-of-way or adjacent land. F. Curbing. All open off-street parking areas designed to have head-in parking along any lot line shall prov 'ide a tire bumper or curb of adequate height and properly located to ensure that no part of any car will project beyond the required setbacks. Subd. 10. Required Off-Street Parking. Where the principal use of the structure served is as listed, the minimum parking facilities (open or enclosed) shall be as shown. A. Single Family Dwelling. Two per dwelling unit. 8. Multiple Dwelling . Two per dwelling unit. ORONO CC 385 (4-1-84)
