RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION FOR THE ORONO FIRE CHIEF TO BE AUTHORIZED TO ENFORCE
THE FIRE CODE
WHEREAS,the City of Orono ("City")has passed Resolution 7375 to establish a fire department;
and
WHEREAS,The City of Orono hired Chief James VanEyll to serve as the Orono Fire Chief effective
December 30, 2022; and
WHEREAS,the City must enforce the fire code; and
WHEREAS, the City shall provide a competent plan review conducted by a person trained in fire
protection system plan review; and
WHEREAS,The City is required by MN Statue 7512.200 Subpart 3 to document the permits issued
each calendar year and supply this information to the Commissioner of Public Safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ORONO,MINNESOTA:
1. The City of Orono has authorized the Orono Fire Chief, James VanEyll to have the authority to
enforce the fire code.
2. The City of Orono also authorizes the Orono Fire Chief,James Van Eyll to perform fire protection
plan review as approved by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office.
ADOPTED this 13th day of November, 2023, by the City Council of the City of Orono.
