Dear Mr. Adams:
This office received your building permit application for an addition to your building at 600 Big
Island on August 15, 1996. A preliminary review revealed that your septic system is classified as
"non-conforming". In 1992, City Council adopted a shareland management ordinance that prohibits
issuance of a building permit to properties with non-conforming septic systems. Therefore, your
building permit application request is denied at this time. If you install a new conforming septic
system in the future,the City will reconsider your request. Please note that a current survey of your
property showing the acquired land will be required to process a building permit application. If you
have any questions regarding the septic system, please contact Steve Weckman, On-Site Systems
