f f -
October 18. 1994
Mr. Mick Sletten
7245 Green Valley Road
Golden Valley, Minnesota 55427
Dear Mr. Sletten:
In reference to your questions:
CITY of ORONO
Municipal OMces
Sheet Address: Mailing Address:
2150 Kelley Parkway P 0. Box 66
Orono. MN 55356 Crystal Bay, MN 55323 0066
Under the proposed subdivision, the northeast line of Lot 2 is considered a rear lot line
subject to a 100' setback for the principal structure. Many of the factors noted in the
May 28, 1993 letter apply only to the total 13 acre parcel. City staff does not consider
proposed Lot 2 as forming a point at the rear.
2. It is our understanding that any "rubble" that remains on the site was legally placed prior
to the City's clean till ordinance, and would only have to be removed in order to
accommodate any new construction you propose, such as the foundation for your
residence. The City will not at this late date require removal of said rubble, but would
encourage you to remove it if it interferes with your use of the property.
The old barn must be removed as a condition of subdivision approval.
3. The City has a rough sketch of where the old septic system was located in relation to the
building, but no record indicating whether the system was properly abandoned.
4. We have previously visited the site and suspect there is little we could provide you in the
way of further information by visiting the site again.
5. The person who took the slides and pictures back in the 1970s was City Planner Alan
Olson. Olson has not worked for the City since 1983 and we have no current knowledge
of his whereabouts.
6. If there are specific items in your file which you feel it would be important for the City
to keep on file, please feel free to forward them to us.
Teltphoow (612) 473-7357 9 FAX 473-0510
