This system is designed for a Type 1, three bedrrom home and in accordance
with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency standards MPC 40 and local
ordinances.
The soils cn this site are typical of SCS .oils mapped - KkC - Kilkenny
loam s Erin Roils. A seasonally high wafer table was located at 18" i 240,
(mott'inq). Lz^ — the seasonally high water table, a pressurized mound
system will need to be installed. The bottom of the rock bed must be lo-
cated at least 3' above the seasonally high water table.
This site has a holding tank or tanks, which overflows to the surface. This
tank or tanks must be abandoned, pump & fill with soil. Two new tanks will
need to be inr.talled.
The soils at a depth of 18" have d percolation rate averaging 8.2 min/inch
and are adequate for treating septic effluent.
A pumping chamber will need to be installed to lift the effluent to the
mound system.
The manifold and supply line pipe must have back drainage to the pumping
chamber. The distribution pipes shall have their ends capped. Be sure the
rock and sand fill material are clean. The sod layer below the entire
mounded area must be turned over, just break up the sod, be sure not to
over work.
The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhole and pump-
ing chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device must be in-
stalled with a light and sound device, this is in case of a pump failure.
(Mercury floats are a good method).
All neighboring well-- are located more than 100 ' away from the proposed
treatment area and 50' away from the tanks.
Keep all heavy equipment off of the proposed treatment area before and
after construction as mach as possible. The treatment area should be
marked off before cons' -ruction.
With proper installation and maintenance, this system should have no prob-
lem in treating septic effluent effectively.
It is recommended that the septic tanks be pumped
every 2 years. Soil and Percolation rears D _
