Res Request for zoning variance

I ovm approximately 16 acres of land in the Village , at the
northwest corner of the intersection of Bayside Road and County Road
1.35. On this property is a 30 year old homes 4080 Bayside Road. Mr.
and Mrs. Kim Hanner, residents of Orono, wish to buy this home for a
price of $31500 including one acre of land. I,therefore, submitted
a request for a zoning variance on that basis with the following
justifications:
1. The home is located directly on and facing Bayside Road and
Is bordered on the West by a deep ravine and on the North and
East by very steep hillss, leaving approximately 2/3 of an acre
of land suitable nor a yap] around the home.
2. A home in this price range purchased with more than 1 acre of
land in this particular area will result in a markedly dispro-
portianate investment in land for a homestead.
3. The home is 30 years old and was never built with the intention
of being part of a hobby faun or small estate.
In spite of the above reason.:. at a Commission meeting several months
ago I was led to believe that this request would be refused. I. there-
fore withdrew the request and am, at this time, submitting a new re-
quest for a zoning variance w}.Ich wi:l permit me to sell this horne with
approximately 2.4 acres as shown on the accompanying Survey. This Survey
also shows *he approximate location of a 20 foot easement which will pro-
vide read access to the remainder of the rroperty.
I have previously submitted the required fee and a topographic survey
of the land adjacent to the home. If you desire any further information,
I will do my best to provide such.
