As you requested, one soil boring and two pereolatien tests
were eondueted in the area of your designated drainfield on 0,,,) �
September 21-22 1978. An extra Fob N
p , poroolatt�n hole was dug
since the soil around percolation bole 2 appeared more
clayey, and it was necessary to determine if this was an
isolated pocket or indicative of all the soil in that area.
Percolation holes 2 and 3 were taken toward the east
side of your property where the wools and trees were re-
moved. flowerer, when they were later located fusel the
section line, they plotted up ,fust outside your property.
While this isn't oritical sonoerning the percolation results,
care should be taken when constructing the system to be
sure it remains the required distance from the lot line.
It also might be nsoessuy to extend the lines into the
wooded area near your haus• in order to obtain the required

drainfield area.
The average percolation rate for the area was 28.8
minutes per inch and the slope of the ground is around
12% with the depth to the water table being 7.6 feet at
the lower end of the proposed drainfield area. Thus, all
the requirements for a standard system are not. Installation
of such a system should adhere to the provisions of the
Orono on-site sewage treatment manual, trenches should
be placed as far as possible up the field and should not
extend vary much down the hill from percolation holes
since the water table would become closer to the ground
surface.
