A RESOLUTION GRANTING
AN EXTENSION TO
RPUD MASTER DEVELOPMENT PLAN APPROVAL FOR ORONO APARTMENTS
PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT NO. 17
FILE NO. 23-000009
WHEREAS, the City of Orono (hereinafter the "City") is a municipal corporation organized
and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orono (hereinafter"City Council") adopted land
development regulations for the orderly, economic and safe development of land within the City; and
WHEREAS, Orono Apartments LLC is the owner(hereinafter the"Owner") of the property at
2745 Kelley Parkway, legally described at Lot 1, Block 2, City of Orono Addition (hereinafter the
"Property"); and
WHEREAS, the City Council granted a Master Development Plan approval, LA20-000001,
for the proposed 56 unit apartment building via Resolution 7085, which had an original expiration
date of April 13, 2021; and
WHEREAS, City Staff granted a one year extension until April 13, 2022; and
WHEREAS, on January 7, 2022, the City Council granted the Owner's second request for
an extension to April 13, 2023; and
WHEREAS, on March 14, 2023, due to issues related to material supply and labor, the
Owner requested a third Master Development Plan approval extension to April 13, 2024.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Orono does hereby
grant a 3rd extension for Master Development Plan Approval for PUD No. 17, to expire April 13,
2024 unless a building permit has been obtained.
ADOPTED by the Orono City Council on this 21st day of March, 2023.
