SEPTIC SYSTEM APPROVAL
LOCATION: 1200 Brackett's Point Road

System is approved per the proposed plan with the following notes
and changes:
1. Allow absolutely no traffic on drainfield site. Once the
driveway is relocated, and ;he old driveway removed, fill the old
driveway excavation with mat,!rial equivalent in texture to the
surrounding topsoil. (All gravel or hardpan from below the old
driveway must be removed and replaced with equivalent sandy
topsoil.) Fence off the drainfield site, allow no vehicular
traffic, no storage of materials, etc.
2. Sandy loam fill should be placed prior to construction of
trenches. (Remove sod layer and fill, dig trenches into fill so
that excavation is 1"-2" into original grade.
3. Charge: Orono Code requires a minimum of 600 s.f. drainfield
for any house regardless of house size or soil conditions. Each
trench mtist be lengthened to 50' in order to accomodate this
requirement (an alternative would be widen trenches co 316").
4. Change: Code requires Serial Distribution of this system
based on the extremely fast perculation nates (the reason is that

next trerr:h will allow a quicker build-up of "biomat", which acts
to slow the effluent absorption to an unsaturated flow which
allows for greater treatment efficiency). Use Drop Sox
Distribution.
