HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-09-09 Soil Percolation Test ReportSeptember 9, 1974 Mr. Lyle Cox 5134 Chowen Avenue South Minneapolis, Minnesota 55410 Re: Residential Percolation Test Dickeys Lake - Orono Dear Mr. Cox: 545 Indian Mound Wayzata, Minnescfa 55391 (612) 473-4224 On September 3 and 4, 1974 percolation tests were run on your property as shown on the enclosed sketch map. Tests consisted of one soils boring to eight feet in depth and six test holes 24 to 36 inches in depth. Soils encountered (at test hole 6) were topsoil, red sand, gray sandy clay, gray clay and gray clay till. No standing water was observed. Percolation rates nearest the proposed drain field are 40 minutes per inch. At this rate the drain field area required is 300 square feet for each proposed bedroom. The proposed drain field shown allows for four bedrooms assuming a trench bottom width of two feet. Percolation rates at the other test holes were half of this or 20 minutes per inch. A dre:n field at the alternate site shown would require a lift station but would need ap- proximately one half the area of the first choice. Top- ographic contours shown are approximate. The stated percolation rate is an average of rates at the locations shown and no guarantee is implied or expressed that these conditions exist for the entire proposed drain field area. If we can be of further help, please advise. Sincerely, EUGENE A. HICKOK AND ASSOCIATES John A. Holmquist U JAH/cmf Enclosure CC: M. Scheller W. H.
