Because the trenches can be no more than 18" deep into the original soil, and because of the limited area available due to sethack requirements, the final house elevation may dictate that a pump be used in the system. If this turns out to be the case, the preferred method would be to pump the basement only and gravity flow the upper floors. Presuming a basement pump is needed, the original system should be kept as far uphill as possible to preserve the lower area for future use. The well must to located at least 75' from either drainfield site, hence the acceptable well locations fall in a small area at the nortwest corner of the lot. Any water line under the driveway should be placed a minimum of 7' dce with 2" of styro- foam insulation to eliminate potential freezing problems. ~KEEP ALL TRAFFIC, FILL, GRADING, ETC.
