ROLL The Council met as the Canvassing Board on the above date and time in the Orono Council Chambers. The following members were present: Mayor Jabbour, Council Members Richard Flint, Charles Kelley, Barbara Peterson and Bob Sansevere. The following represented City staff: City Administrator Ron Moorse and City Clerk Lin Vee. Mayor Jabbour called the meeting to order at 7:32 a.m. Copies of the attached results of the September 12 Primary Election were distributed. Council Member Kelley moved. Council Member Peterson seconded, to certify the results of the September 12,2000 municipal election as follows: QUESTION: Consolidation of the Cities of Long Lake and Orono Should the Cities of Long Lake and Orono he combined into one city effective January 1, 2001, in accordance with "Plan for Merger and Implementation" dated May 25, 2000 which was approved by the city councils of Long Lake and Orono and which includes the adoption of a charter for the new city? Yes receiving No receiving 1,487 votes 349 votes Vote: 5 Ayes, 0 nays. ADJOURNMENT The Canvassing Board meeting adjourned at 7:34 a.m. AfTEST: Gabriel Jabbour, Mayor J / Linda S.
