T" a percolation tests (3) were in the range of 120 to 130 ai-stem per inch. While this rate is consider- abli slower then our present minisoon rates for new construction of conventional systw• it is Ai opinion that t e drainfield is funotioniog proporlj# but ser- iously undersized. I have mat with Mfr. Gregg ?re,ck of .4cCombs Knutson, the Orono City Engineers at the site to solicit his views on correcting the problem. Ar. Franc reconended the addition of aDO eq. ft. of drainficle to the present sytaa. I cosmur in this reooamandetion. since the area available for enlorgarsent of the 9.1stea is somewhat lisdted. I propose that the additional drainfield be constructed with a lee ainious depth of filter rock under the distribution pipes. Zhe Minnesota ibllutiens Control Agencies 3ulletin VPC --40 allows a 2D% reduction to arae for a 121 dept. of filter. Ibis would result in an expansion drainfield of &JO sq. ft.
