Mr Stephen Weckman 1 2 14 cnt
On-site Systems Manager,
City of Orono
PO Box 66
Crystal Bay, MN 55323-0066
Dear Mr Weckman,
I am sorry I didn•t contact you
this issue on my own since your
observing the runoff pipe on a
a significant amount of runoff,
never observed any surfacing in
November 7, 1991
Bonita Wells
4485 Bayside Rd
Maple Plain, MN 55359
earlier, but I have been pursuing
visit in June. I have been
weekly basis and have never found
and it is often dry. I have
my yard, or smell.
I contacted McCarty Water & Waste in early September, and Mary
McCarty made a visit to my home on October 21. She observed no
surfacing whatsoever in the yard where she thought it would be.
I showed her the runoff pipe, which had no discharge. She
suggested it was not uncommon in older systems to have a separate
drain from the basement floor or other place having no connection
with the sanitary septic system.
She suggested it was unlikely there was runoff from my septic
tank, listing several reasons: lack of volume of discharge, lack
of smell, lack of fertilized "bloom" in the area below the pipe
or elsewhere.
I apologize again for not responding to your letters, but I have
been concerned with this on my own. I have been in the area of
the pipe and in the gully below, cutting and hauling firewood
from late summer through the present, and there has never been a
smell, never been any indication of sewage.
I recognize this is an old system but believe it is functioning
adequately to meet health standards. I am cautious and
conservative in the use of this system.
I regret giving the impression that I do not want to cooperate
with your office. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Bonita Wells
cc: Mary McCarty
