MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING CO^^MISSIOM, VILLAGE OF
ORONO, JUNE 17, 1968
Chaihnan D. J. Russell called the meeting
to order at 7:30 P. M. Present were Rice
and Nicholls. Absent were Bartig, Dongoske,
McCarthy, and Stubbs.
UNITY INVESTMENT CORP.
Mr. Dick Tuthill appeared in behalf of tlie
above corporation to answer questions
regarding their proposed 6S-unit townhouse
complex at 2535 Shadywood Road. Rice
asked how they could put 65 units in this
area and f^r. Tuthill exhibited diagrams of
the site plan, showing the layout. Russell
asked where accesses were and this was
answered. Discussion was held on what
kind of pool, answer being outdoor; what
kind of community house an answer more
or less, for pool users and picnickers; use
of trees already on site, answer, planned
retention of all trees. Nicholls asked
about how the water supply problem would be
solved and Mr. Tuthill had no ready
answer for this. Russell suggested it
would be a good time to start public
water.
Nicholls moved. Rice seconded, that a
Public Hearing be held. Motion, Ayes (3) -
Nays (0).
BOATPORT SETBACK: Adam Huzio
Rice moved, Nicholls seconded, that the
setback variance on the boatport be
allowed to conform with present garage.
Motion, Ayes (3) - Nays (0).
VARIANCE ON SETBACK: Sigrid Johnson
Variance oq setback and variance on moving
an accessory building in prior to a
residence.
Rice moved, Nicholls seconded, that the
setback variance for the house be granted
but the moving of the garage to lot be
issued only on a conditional use permit
and permission be given by owners of
adjoining properties. Motion, Ayes (3) -
Nays (0).

VARIANCE FOR LOT SIZE: Bert Addison VARIANCE
After a study of the plat, Nicholls moved.
Rice seconded, that a further study be
made so when these 8 lots are divided
there would be only 2 lots. Motion,
Ayes (3) - Nays (0).
DIVISION; Percy Duehn DIVISION
Percy and Leo Duehn appeared in th
own behalf. After a study of the p^at. Rice
moved, Nicholls seconded, that the
division be granted, provided all of Leo
Duehn's and Mrs. Geyen's property is
surveyed and registered along with the
parcel being divided. Motion, Ayes (3)--
Nays (0).
Rice moved, Nicholls seconded, that the
meeting be adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
Motion, Ayes (3) - Nays (0).
