VILLAGE OF ORONO Regular Meeting of the Planning Conwission, June 7, 1971 The Planning Conaission net on the above date with the following nenbers present: Chairnan Poisson, Butler, Elliott, Gasch, Herfurth, Kuhleneier, Kullberg, Niciiolls, and SoiithwoTth. Absent; Dongoske. Hernan Vanderborght represented hinself on a division o' 2.90 acres fron an 11.92 acre parcel. Parcel 3S60, Section 31. lie explained he was selling all his property but the 2.90 acre parcel which contained his residence; also, that one man was buying all the previous parcels divided off including the remainder after this division. When the natter of the extra O' along Chippewa Lane came up, he stated he would either dedicate the R* or give an easement thereto. Kullberg moved, Southi^orth seconded, to recomnend approval of the division. Motion, Ayes (9) - Nays (0). Lloyd Draper represented hinself in a lot size and frontage variance on Lots 16 and 19, Fagerness, explaining that althouth the lots were contiguous, they did not lend themselves to a good combination as they fronted on different streets, iiis plans were to build new hones on both lots and when questioned said they would be for sale. In view of the assessments on both lots and the new assessment coming for water and that service was available to both lots. Kuhlcmeier moved, Nicholls seconded, that approval be recommended, but all setback requirements for construction would have to be met. Motion, Ayes (9) - Nays (0). Attorney Robert llarriman represented ti*e opposition to a proposed street vacaticn of the end 5* of Rest Point Road by presenting a petition of 17 signatures protesting the vacation, and stating that any closing of the above would bring a property-value the beach was an amenity todepreciation as their property. Albert Sand also spoke along the same lines. Kuhleneier moved, Elliott seconded, that a recommendation be made that the status of the access remain unchanged. >k)tion. Ayes (9) - Nays (0). 7:30 P.’l. Ayes (9) • Nays (0). Page 2 LAKE ACCESS COMPLAINTS Nilliaa Sween represented Raynond Abrahamson on a division of his property. A^rer a discussion on lot sixe and drainage in the area. DIVISION Abrahamson Kullberg moved, Southworth seconded, that Mr. Abrahamson get a topographical map of the plat and meet other preliminary plat procedures ns oetlined in the ordinance and present then to the Planning Commission at their next meeting. Motion, Ayes (9) • Nays (0). Elmo Ginkle represented Harold Roberts i. a rearrangement and division of Lots 1 thtwUgh S, Block 2, Casco Heights, asking for three lots out of the five combined. It was noted that the lots are not presently serviced by sewer, the service being one lot away. DIVISION Casco Heights I Poisson moved, Nicholls seconded, that a division of two lots instead of three would bring the division closer to the require* ments of the code and so recommended contingent on the area being serviced by sewer. Kullberg maintained that there were many SO* lots with residences on them in the area. Motion, Ayes (a) • Nays (1). Kullberg Nay. mm:".; The division of Thomas Crosby consisting of 39.26 acres into two lots, one 16.6 acres, the other 23.20 acres was studied. It was noted that the division would leave the smaller parcel land-locked. Elliott moved, Nicholls seconded, that the applicant be notified that he move the north line of the smaller lot further north, either at an angle or straight, so as to provide at least 60* frontage on East Long Lake Road. Motion, Ayes (9) - Mays (0). DIVISION Crosby MINUTES OP A KBGUUUI r4BBTlNG HELD JUNE 7, 1971 Msabert studied tht application of Robert McKot for a eubdivision at Siath Avenue North and Watertown Road. Nichollf novod, Butler aeconded, that since the subdivision was over all the requirenents of the R«1C tone aid all:lots fronted on .a najor street, that prelininary approval be reconaended. Motion, Ayes (9) • Nays (0). Meiers as a body instructed the Secretary to record their deep lost with the passing of Ward Parten who so graciously and cheerfully gave his tine and energy in serving with the*.
