The Planning Comaission net on the above date with the following nenbers present; Chairnan Poisson, Butler, Elliott, Gasch, Herfurth, Xuhleneier, Xullberg, Parten, and Soiithworth. Absent: Dongoske and Nicholls, Also present: Mayor Oberhauser, Councilmen Dorn and Searlos, and Village Administrator Martin. The public hearing was opened for the retoning of the Cowles property from R-IA to R-1A*1. John Fischer represented the WoodoRill Conference Center explaining the background and plans, presented a petition PUBLIC HEARING Retoning P-IA to R-lA-1 Wood'Rill Conference Center from adjoining property owners, mans, certificate of persons living within 300* of the property. and scale model of the property. Bruce Dayton explained the purpose of the Conference Center to serve the Twin City area. The property would be used by charitable, educational and commercial organizations. Questions were asked concerning taxes on the property and total investment. After all members Ipresent were afforded an opportunity to bo heard, the hearing wis closed. Kullberg moved. Elliott seconded, to recoiiunend that the retoning be allowed. Motion, Ayes (6) - Nays (2). Parten and Butler Nay. Kuhlemeier abstaining. George Nelson appeared concerning a complaint about his keeping sheep on his property at 26S Brown Ro.^d South, in violation of the zoning code. ZONING VIOLATION 265 Brown Road South Kullberg moved, Kuhlemeier seconded, to zacomoend that Mr. Nelson apply to the village Council for a variance to keep his sheep, ftotion withdrawn. Elliott moved, Kuhlemeier seconded, wo deny Mr. Nelson’s appeal to keo shoep. !lotion. Ayes (9} - Nays eop (0). tliat his Herfurth moved, Kuiilemeier seconded,that the Planning Commission not recommend to the ipouncil that the Larson property be rezoned Ks industrial now, but to go on record if Mr. Larson has a buyer contingent on rezoning, that the Planning Commission act quickly in considering his request for the rezoning, and that the Village initiate a study for a comprehensive land use plan.
