DIVISION Dongoske i. VARIANCE - Lofrano 4. VARIANCE - Ressler AGENDA VILLAGE OF ORONO Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission. September 18, 1972 7:30 P.M. The Planning Commission met on the above date with the following members present: Chairman pro tern ICullberg, Elliott, Gasch, Nicholls, Searles, and Van Nest. Absent: Cnairman Poisson, Hays, Kokesh, Ryerse, and Southworth. Gasch moved, Searles seconded, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 6, 1972, be approved. Motion, Ayes (6) - Nays (0). MINUTES Robert Dongoske appeared to answer questions regarding a division of Lot 7, ^lock 2, Forest Arms. Tlie original plat provided a 31* easement from the channel to"Lot 7. Block 2. He nm/ wished to continue this easement through Lot 7 to provide access for Lots 1 through 5, BIock 1 of the same subdivision. He stated that he did not intend to store boats in the channel, that it was merely to place small sailboats or canoes in the lake for people owning these lots. DIVISION Forest Arms i % Searles moved, Nicholls seconded, that approval be recommended conditioned on: 1. Docks and storage limited by Lake Minnetonka Conservation District standards. 2. No in-water storage of boats. Motion, Ayes (6) - Nays (0). Joseph Lofrano represented himself in an application for a garage side setback of 4* instead of the required 10* and rear setback of 10* instead of the required 30* VARIANCE 3365 Crystal Bay Road Members studied alternatives to the application as submitted. After satisfying themselves that the alternatives had drawbacks and concluding that : 1.There was a need for a garage. O 2. The area is built up and is unique in-so-far-as lot size and widt.i. 3. There is a 50* railroad easement to the rear. Searles moved, Kullberg seconded, that approval be recommended. ?fotion. Ayes (6) - Nays (0). Rex Ressler appeared to answer questions regarding liis application for a garage setback variance. Members in a orior meeting had asked for a survey showing present and proposed structures. Mr. Ressler stated tiie cost of a survey prohibited him from using such a procedure. He presented a more detailed sketch of present and proposed structures made by himself. He was again cautioned on the inherent danger of constructing close to property lines without a survey. Nicholls was of the opinion that tnis was a legal matter between he and tnc adjacent neighbor and should not influence a decision. Van Nest moved, Searles seconded, approval should be recommended conditioned on: 1. Not less than 4* from the side lot line. 2. Not less than 4* from the road easement line. 3. Not less than 10* from the residence, itotion. Ayes (6) • Nays (0). Discussion was held on tlie progress of tne community seminars currently being held. Searles moved, Kullberg seconded, that tne meeting be adjourned at 8:50 P.M. Motion, Ayes (6) - Nays (0). Respectfully submitted.
