Planning Coranission Work Session, June 30, 1975
The Orono Planning Comnission met on the above date
with the following members present: Chairman John
Guthrie, Pesek, McDonald, Van Nest, Curtis, Dunlap,
Kallestad and Hannah: Leave of absence-Gasch:
Absent: Wooley § Hake.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read
Ayes (8), Nay (0).
The Plaming Coranission considered all the properties
listed in Mr. Kallestad's report, particularly the
Robb property. They discussed the location of the
Robb property as a possible future expansion area
of the near by Industrial Zone on Multiple Residential
Zone, but appeared to favor this area for public
works location.
After reviewing this proposal, the Planning Coranission
suggested referral to the Park Coranission to determine
vdiether the lOt dedication fee be in land or money.
Dunlap suggested a proposed bikeway, also be called
to the Park Coranission attention. The applicant was
infoimed of the required 50* easement with proposed
private roadway as shown on his plan.

After reviewing the proposed DNR Shoreline Guidelines,
the Planning Coranission c".greed that Forest Lake and
Lake Minnetonka be classified as recreational
rather than general.
Brad Van Nest moved to recoranend to Council the
Village establish a policy of determining shorelines
and d^k lengths by establishing an ordinance high
water elevation of 929.4, the same elevation as
Gray*s Bay Dam. Guthrie seconded.

The Planning Coranission suggested the Village
Attorney be contacted as to vrtiether a Conditional Use
Permit application was the proper course of action
for a Day Care Center.
Dunlap questioned the status of the opeii storage
complaint by Mr. Ferrel against Mr. Naab at the last
Planning Coranission meeting. MQiich explained
that photos were taken § Mr. Naab was instructed to
correct the violation. The Planning Coranission
suggested another investigation be made and
recoranended referral to Council for action if the
violation has not been corrected. Pesek second^.
