VILLAGE OF ORONO
Regular Meeting of the Planning Coomission,
Septeaber 17, 1973
7:30 PJf.
The Planning Conaitsion aet on the above date
with the following aeabers present: Chairaan
Paurus, Guthrie, and Searles. Absent: Elliott,
Gasch, Hays, Kokesh, Kullberg, Poisson, Ryerse,
and Van Nest.
Since a quorua was not present, discussion
was held on the value of holding a aeeting.
Members present agreed that they should go
through the iteas before thea and hear the
people present.
Unofficial recommendation to allow the division
contingent on the vacation of the old cartway
of questionable existence and a resolution oe
drawn prohibiting construction on the newly
created lot.
Members concurred that:
1. No public purpose was being served by
placing a road through the swamp.
2. That a road could be built without going
through the swamp.
3. Density was not defined. The zoning is
R>1A and adjacent Allo*Rae Terrace has lots of
approximately 2S,000 sq. ft. Members felt
it would not be unreasonable to allow eight
units under these circuastances.
Mr. Abel, representing the Club, stated it
would not be feasible to have less than 20
units.
Members concurred that this was a good
division and should be allowed.
Members agreed this was only a convenience
division and could in no way be a division
for development so should be permitted.
Members concurred that the division met the
code and should be allowed.

Janes McCleary represented himself in an
application for food license for light
lunches of the chili, soup and sandwich
variety.
FOOD LICENSE
James McCleary
Members concurred that this type of food
service should be allowed, but conditions
should be imposed so that the service does
not increase into a full-fledged restaurant
or supper club.
No action was taken by members on this variance
for a garage 8* from the side yard lot line
instead of the required 10*.
