MINUTES OF THE MARINA COMMITTEE MEETING OF APRIL 7, 1982
The Marina Conunittee met on the above date. The following
members were present: Chairman Hurr and Goetten, Mabusth
represented the City staff.
ATTENDANCE
4:30 PM
Steve Pauly and Dennis Keating were present for Chaska
Marina's 1982 commercial dock license application review.
CHASKA MARINA
Keating reviewed the dock layout planned tor the 1982 season
designating a total 74 slips, a drop of 3 siips from last
years license. This will afford 68 rental slips and 6
service slips. The new dock configuration will improve
the minimal side setbacks along the west iof the dock
structure. There will be an increase of approximately
10'+ allowing for a wider approach channel to the marina
and moving the boats away from the front of the Kane
property.
The committee has asked for written confirmation by the
east property owner, Rita Straley, approving encroachment
of slips 22 and 34 (per new plan) for this season. The
applicants stated that they had such written confirmation
and would submit a copy of that letter to the City.
'f
The Marina Committee reviewed the site plan submitted at
the meeting noting, the service areas, used boat sales area
and the required parking stalls. The committee found no
problems with the proposed use of the site.
Hurr asked the applicants to review any landscaping
improvements proposed for this season. Keating stated
that the shoreline would be rip rapped and that after an
evaluation of the planting along the east lot line is
made that they would either replant or place additional
plantings.
The Marina Committee advised the applicants that this
year the committee plans to make a site inspection at
each Marina to review the existing landscaping.
A second boat head pump will be installed at the fuel
dock by June 1, 1982. The original head pump will remain
at the shoreline service slips for staff use only and not
to be used by the public.
Hurr moved to approve a 1982 commercial dock license fo
the Chaska Marina subject to the following conditions:
1 - Applicant submit copy of recent Straley letter
approving the side setback area for slips 22 & 34.
2 - Applicants obtain required permits from the MCWD
and the DNR for rip rap of shoreline.
3 - Applicant obtain required permits from the City
for installation of boat head pump at fuel dock.
