1. Percolation Rate, Type of System.
16.0 minutes per inch for the primary site(hoIes 1-4). Standard system with
trenches no deeper than 2 feet in the natural soil.
2. Proposed Flow Rate.
600 G.P.D.
3. Soil Treatment Area Required.
600 G.P.D. X 1.67 percolation rate factor = 1000 Sq. Ft.
4. Size and Number of Trenches.
3 trenches 3 feet wide and 111 feet long = 1000 Sq. Ft. These trenches would
be spaced a minimum of 7.5 feet apart center and be 1-2 feet deep in the na
tural soil.
5. Drainfield Rack Needed.
55.6 cubic yds. of rock is needed to have 12 inches under and 2 inches over
a 4 inch distribution pipe.
6. Septic Tanks.
Two septic tanks each of 1000 gallons are recommended. It appears that grav
ity flow can be used to reach the drainfield area if the house is kept high
enough. If not, then a third pumping t.vok and pump would be needed.
7. Additional Information.
Grading should be done to divert runoff water away from the drainfield area.
No grading or construction traffic is allowed in either drainfield area and
all construction and materials should adhere to the provisions of the City
of Orono.
