Re: Septic System Repairs
Dear Neighbors:
City Administrator, Walter R. Benson, has informed me that the County
funding for which Orono has applied will not be forthcoming. In
addition, our applications for State or Federal funding are being
held up with hundreds of other applications while new priority
placement rules are being approved at the State level. It is
expected that the rules which will be adopted will place projects
such as Orono's contemplated Crystal Bay Sewer collection system
at the lowest priority, hence early funding of the project is not
likely. Mr. Benson has instructed me to inform you and other
Crystal Bay area residents with septic system problems that you
should go ahead with repairs as necessary to prevent or eliminate
any surface discharges or back-ups into the house.
I am enclosing some information which should be helpful to you in
proceeding with repairs. Please contact me if you have further
questions. I will be glad to meet with you to discuss your plans.
