Septic Final Inspection
On May 25th, 2021, I visited the site to conduct a final inspection in regards to some post
landscaping whereby there was a concern about a landscaping wall and a pool being too close
to the Mound Septic, or the wall was thought to be on the Mound.
1. A boulder wall was constructed about 8 feet from the upper edge of the Mound rock
bed. Technically the Mound Dike goes about 12 feet from the rock bed, but on the
upper side of the Mound, there is no absorption area credit. Having the landscape wall
there will not impact the long term performance of the Mound. Thus there is no issue
with the wall regarding the Mound nor the Septic or Pump tanks as well.
2. The in-ground pool is 21 feet from the upper edge o f the rock bed. This meets the
MPCA minimum recommended design setback of 20 feet.
Upon my visit and final septic inspection, this septic system is deemed In Compliance and the
LUG may issue a Certificate of Compliance.
