Co. , MN This system is Designed for a Type l, th ee bedroom horre and in accordance with the Minnesota Pollution Control Age cy Chapter 7080 and local ordinances . This site has an existing system with a urface outlet which s not a legal system and is considerd a failing ystem. The Olsons bought the home in the 'all of 85 ' . This syste would have been illegal at that time also. The soil condidtions wo ld be the same today as in 1985 . The soils on this site are typical of SC soils mapped - KkB - Kilkenny loam. A seasonally high water table was located at 18" , 28" & 30" , (mottled soil ) . Due to the seasonally h gh water table, a Pressurized . Mound System will need to be installed. The bottom of the rock bed must be located at least 3 ' abov the se sonally high water table. The soils at a depth of 12" have a perco ation rate averaging 5 . 4 min/inch and are adequate for treating s ptic effluent. A pumping chamber will need to be instal ed to lift the effluent to the treatment area. The existing tanks are a block type & wi 1 need to be replaced. Pump &- fill with soil . The manifold and supply line pipe must h ve back drainage to the pumping chamber. The distribution pipes shall h ve their ends capped. Be sure the rock and sand fill material are clea . The sod layer below the entire mounded area must be turned over, just break up the sod, be sure not to over work. The power supply and switches must be lo ated outside the manhole and pumping chamber in a weather proof enclosure . A• warning device must be installed with a light and sound device , this is in case of a pump failure. (Mercury floats are a good method) . CONT ' D Soil and Percolat on Teat: Septic Syatem esign .' • (2) 4360 Bayside Rd. `. All neighboring wells are located more t an 100 ' away from the proposed treatment area. Keep all heavy equipment off of the prop sed treatment area before and after construction as much as possible . The treatment area should be marked off before construction. With proper installation and maintenance this system should have no problem in treating septic effluent effe tively. Recommend to pump the septic tank every ear if there is only 1 tank & every 2 years if there are 2 tanks . <-14-^-- Steven B. Schirmers s SBS/ds .—_ —t+` n# — .
