Re; 3865 Bayside road Orono MN -Hazardous Buildings
Dear Mr. Dianis,
The city has received complaints regarding the condition of the garages on your
property at 3865 Bayside road in ORONO. An inspection revealed that the buildings are
in a state of collapse and need to be removed from the property.
You have a few options to deal with this issue. First you could hire a contractor
to obtain a demolition permit from the city and have the buildings torn down and
removed from the property. Second you could authorize the city to remove the buildings
and the cost would be charged against the real estate as a special assessment, except the
city may provide that the cost so assessed may be paid in not to exceed five equal annual
installments with an interest thereon, at eight percent per annum.
If you fail to take action the city will obtain a court order to cause the removal of
the buildings and the cost will be charged against the real estate as a special assessment.
Please contact me before November 15th 2007 to discuss how you wish to
proceed. If we do not hear from you the city will proceed with hazardous building action
and cause the removals.

Re; Rebuilding Garages
Dear Mr. Dianis,
Thank you for you attention on the garage matter. If you wish to rebuild the new �arages
they would have to meet current zoning requirements as follows;
Setbacks; on lakeshore lots detached accessory structures are allowed to be 10' from the
rear (street) lot line but a min. of 30' if the doors face the street. Garages from 750' to
1000' must be 15' from the lot lines and garages over 1000' require a 30' setback.
Structure to structure setbacks; 10'
Lot coverage; lots less than 2 acres are limited to 15% structural coverage (buildings).
Hardcover; Lakeshore lots are not allowed hardcover within 75' of the lake shore. From
75' to 250' 25% is allowed, and from 250 to �00' 30% is allowed.
Building height; Garages are limited to 30' to an average height of the highest gable but
no higher than the principal structure on the lot.
If you meet these requirements the city can issue permits for garages.
