Donald & Kelly Asmussen
1960 West Farm Road
Orono, Hennepin County
To whom it may concern,
I was contacted by Erik Myhran on behalf of Kelly Asmussen to design the repair for the failing mound
system at 1960 West Farm Road. In the city of Orono. The results of the inspection and design are as follows.
Soil borings on the west end of the rock bed show the periodically saturated soils at the surface this
indicates that the existing rock bed does not meet the three-foot separation to the periodically saturated soils.
Therefore, the solution is to remove the existing rock bed and any of the sand material under the rock that is not
clean. Then replace it with clean sand to the proper elevation.
The original soils under the uphill side of the rock bed at the south and are at elevation. -98.3. The system
was original installed with 1.6 feet of sand under the uphill side of the rock bed. The bottom of the new rock bed
must be placed at the elevation of 101.3
The existing tanks may be used upon approval of the local inspector. See tank report.
There is one rock bed 75 feet in length. It will be replaced with one 63 feet in length. This will take
approximately 21 cubic yards of rock with six inches of rock.
The clean sand required will be approximately 45 cubic yards. This number may vary due to the fact that.
We don't know how much of the sand will be removed until the rock bed is removed.
The sandy loam cap will require approximately 19 cubic yards.
The laterals will take 183 lineal feet of two-inch pipe with 7/23 -inch perforations. Clean outs must be
installed on the end of the laterals.
The topsoil required will be approximately 30 cubic yards.
The existing pump is working so it can still be used.
If you have any questions please call.
Sincerely,
Joseph J. Olson
