A site evluation was completed qn these properties for the existing on-site sewage
treatment systems suppor#ing the existing cabins. The existing systems are classified
as failing due to not meeting tie 3' separation from the saturated soil (mottled soil) or
iack of systm. The existing tanks are old, either metal or block type and will need to be
abandoned, pumped and filled with soil. A new system wi{I need to be installed.
This an-site sewage Veatmert Cluster ystem is designed for a Type 3, 3 bedroom 218
gal/day each cabin tataling 654 gal/day, in accordanGe, with the Minnesota Poliution
Contral Agency Chapter 7080 an local ordinances. An easement agreement will be
required by the cty. The greement will require a maintenance schedule for mintaitting
the tariks, and shed electrical Costs, etc. A water meter wili need to be installed in
eh cabin #a monitor tfe dily wter use and to be recorded with the property. The
system wiEl be ' irom the property line and up to the road easemert, this will need
pproval from the City. Apr'oval will also b nseded for tank ta be 5' from the Robb
cabin to stay out of a tow afea.
The soiis on this site are SCS soils maped - HbC - Hayden loam. The sesanally
saturated sails were located at 5'10". The bottom of the treatment area must be located
at least 3' above the seasona{ly saturafed soils. A standard gravelless 10" diameter
trench system may be installed.
The soils t a depth of 30" have a percalation rate averaging 10.4 mpi_

Due to the system being sized for 1.27sq.ft. (perc rate 9 0.4) low water use facilities will
nEed tq be instelled in all three properties. If water softners are used, they mus# be
diverted either to the round surtace (not the lake) or install approximately 50 lin.ft. of
gaveless trench.
The new tanks may be plastic ut must be heavy duty due to the high water tabie, see
the site plan for the focation.
A pumping chamber will need to be installeGi to lif[te septic effluent to the treatment
area. The power supply nd switChes must be located outside fhe manhple nd
pumping chmber in a weather proof enclosure. A waming device must be instalfed with
a iight and sund dBviCe, thi is in cse of a pump failure. An exterior devie wi11 need
to be instslled.
AH neighboring we{Is are located greater than 100' away from the proposed treatment
area and 50' away on this site (dep well). Approval wi{I be needed to be 50` away from
a well with a tnk at t[e Rabb cabin.
Keep all hevy gquipment off of the proposed treatment area before and after
Corstruction. The treatment rea should kye marked off befor construction. This
Design is not valid & the system wi11 need to be relocated if failure to prptct the areas
prapased for n-Srte Sewage Treatment accurs_
With proper installation and maintenance, this system should have no prohlem in
treating septic efFluent efec#ively.
Nothing other than gray water laundry, showers, etc,} should be disposed of into the
septi tanks. Garbage disposals are not recommended, due to adding more solids 8
fine solids passing through to the system. Excessive amounts of soaps, cleanin agents
& chlonne agents my kill the bacteri needed to treat septic effiuent. Additives are not
recommended. Recommend to pump & clean yoUr tanks through the manhole by a
certifed pumper every 2 years. hecc with your pumper to set up a schedule.
