Re: Vacant Property at "3580" Ivy Place (Casco Point) - TREE REMOVAL VIOLATION
Dear Mr. Lupient:
On July 24, 1996 the City was notified of extensive tree removal which had apparently taken place
on the above referenced property some weeks ago. An inspection of the site indicates that as many
as four trees located less than 75 feet from Lake Minnetonka were removed as part of an extensive
clearing of this property. City ordinances require a permit for the removal of trees within 75 feet
of the Lake. Such permits normally are conditioned on a suitable tree replacement plan.
We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this violation and your plans for this property. We
have had inquiries over the last year or so from various parties interested in the property, and are
aware it has been marketed as "2-3 lots". City staff has serious concerns regarding the buildability
of the property including its current status as a City-designated wetland, the filling which created it
in the 1950's and legal access, among others.
