City Code does not include a provision for the Council to reappoint Commission members beyond the third term. Advertisements for filling the vacancy have been posted on the website and Facebook. The city has received two applications, Scott Kirchner and David Peterson. Staff anticipates the applicants will be reviewed by the Council via interview at their workshop on March 9th, to be appointed that night. Section 74-2 of the City Code prescribes membership of the Commission, with the intent to diversify perspectives between lake and non-lake, and urban (zoning less than 2 acres) and rural (zoning more than 2 acres) residents. The terms are intended to be staggered.
