With a house proposed in the middle of the lot. The home to be build will consist of 4 bedrooms with a walkout basement. The proposed septic sites are northeast of the proposed home. 2-1250 gallon septic tanks will be installed east of the walkout basement. A 1250 gallon pump tank will also be installed to lift effluent to the proposed system. The mottling in the soil was found at 18 inches. Therefore an 18 inch sand lift mound with a 10x50 ft rockbed will be installed on the northeastern hill side. East of the group of trees that are north of proposed home. The alternate site is located inside of the northern wooded section of the lot. A flow measurement device must be installed on the pump tank. If a garbage disposal is installed in the home an effluent filter must also be installed on the outlet of the 2nd septic tank. This new on-site sewage treatment system is designed for a 4 bedroom home, Type 1 system in accordance with the MPCA Chapter 7080 and local ordinances. The soils on this site are sandy loam. The periodically saturated soils were located after going to a depth of 18 inches_ This will lead 12 inches of usable soil underneath the mound with a 2 foot sand lift. Therefore providing a 36 inch separation for the treatment of effluent above the periodically saturated soils. 2-1250 gallon tank will need to be installed or reused along with a 1250 gallon pump tank to lift the sewage to the treatment area. The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhole and pumping chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device must also be installed with audio/visual alerts. The supply line must have drain back to the pumping chamber. From the pump tank sewage will be pumped approximately 75 feet to the mound. There will be 3-2" pipes each 3 feet apart inside the 10' by 50' rockbed. The mound will have a total footprint of 55' by 88' with 12 percent slope underneath it. All tank manholes should be brought to grade upon completion of tank installation, inspection ports for the distribution boxes should also be at grade upon completion. Keep all vehicles and construction equipment off septic area. Rutting and/or compacting the soil will change the percolation rates and may lead to system failure. Homeowner to verify all property lines. Elevations are referenced to Bench Mark on tar of the road. Ende Septic Service, LLC,24910 Territorial Road l ph.763-428-4489 orinfo(cDendesentic.com 1 1 Installer to verify all elevations, dimensions, and ensure proper fall to pipes. Pitch pump chamber outlet to ensure complete drain back to pump chamber. Establish turf to prevent erosion and freezing. Each tank is to be pumped through the maintenance cover when serviced. Do not pump through inspection pipes. Homeowner is responsible for all costs involved in servicing, monitoring, and mitigating the system. All construction to be performed in accordance with MN Rule 7080. Nothing other than human waste, toilet tissue, laundry, showers, water softener etc. should be disposed of into the septic tank. Recommend iron filters be diverted out of the system. Recommended to divert the water softener as well. Garbage disposals are no recommend, due to adding more solids and fine solids passing through the system. Excessive amounts of soap, antibacterial soaps, cleaning agent, showers, cleaners used every shower and chlorine agents may kill the bacteria needed to treat septic effluent. Additives are not recommended. Recommend laundering be limited to 3 loads per day. Chart on page 6 can help track your activities. Your toilet is not a garbage can.Do not flush anything besides human waste and toilet paper. No wet wipes, cigarette butts, disposal diapers, used medicine, feminine products or other trash! The system and septic tanks needs to be checked every 36 months Your service provider or pumper/maintainer should evaluate if your tank needs to be pumped more or less often. Seasonally or several times per year • Leaks. Check(listen, look)for leaks in toilets and dripping faucets. Repair leaks promptly. • Soil treatment area. Regularly check for wet or spongy soil around your soil treatment area. If surfaced sewage or strong odors are not corrected by pumping the tank or fixing broken caps and leaks, call your service professional. Untreated sewage may make humans and animals sick. Keep bikes, snowmobiles and other traffic off and control borrowing animals. • Alarms. Alarms signal when there is a problem; contact your service professional any time the alarm signals. • Lint filter. If you have a lint filter, check for lint buildup and clean when necessary. If you do not have one, consider adding one after washing machine. • Effluent screen. If you do not have one, consider having one installed the next time the tank is cleaned along with an alarm. Annually • Water usage rate. A water meter or another device can be used to monitor your average daily water use. Compare your water usage rate to the design flow of your system(listed on the next page). Contact your septic professional if your average daily flow over the course of a month exceeds 70% of the design flow for your system. • Caps. Make sure that all caps and lids are intact and in place. Inspect for damaged caps at least every fall.Fix or replace damaged caps before winter to help prevent freezing issues. • Water conditioning devices. See Page 5 for a list of devices. When possible, program the recharge frequency based on water demand(gallons) rather than time (days). Recharging too frequently may negatively impact your septic system.Consider updating to demand operation if your system currently uses time, • Review your water usage rate.Review the Water Use Appliance chart on Page 5.Discuss any major changes with your service provider or pumper/maintainer. During each visit by a service provider or pumper/maintainer • Make sure that your service professional services the tank through the manhole. (NOT though a 4"or 6"diameter inspection port.) • Ask how full your tank was with sludge and scum to determine if your service interval is appropriate. • Ask your pumper/maintainer to accomplish the tasks listed on the Professional Tasks on Page 4. -3 - UNIVERSITY Septic System Management Plan for Above Grade Systems - 4 OF MINNESOTA ' Professional Management Tasks '' These are the operation and maintenance activities that a pumper/maintainer performs to help ensure long- term performance ofyoursystem. At each visit a written report/record must be provided to homeowner. Plumbing/Source of Wastewater • Review the Water Use Appliance Chart on Page 5 with homeowner. Discuss any changes in water use and the impact those changes may have on the septic system. • Review water usage rates(if available)with homeowner. Septic Tank/Pump Tanks • Manhole lid. A riser is recommended if the lid is not accessible from the ground surface.Insulate the riser cover for frost protection. • Liquid level.Check to make sure the tank is not leaking. The liquid level should be level with the bottom of the outlet pipe. (If the water level is below the bottom of the outlet pipe, the tank may not be watertight. If the water level is higher than the bottom of the outlet pipe of the tank, the effluent screen may need cleaning,or there may be ponding in the soil treatment area.) • Inspection pipes.Replace damaged or missing pipes and caps. • Baffles.Check to make sure they are in place and attached, and that inlet/outlet baffles are clear of buildup or obstructions. • Effluent screen. Check to make sure it is in place; clean per manufacturer recommendation. Recommend retrofitted installation if one is not present. • Alarm.Verify that the alann works. • Scum and sludge. Measure scum and sludge in each compartment of each septic and pump tank, pump if needed. Pump Pump and controls. Check to make sure the pump and controls are operating correctly. • Pump vault. Check to make sure it is in place;clean per manufacturer recommendations. Alarm.Verify that the alarm works. Drainback. Check to make sure it is draining properly. • Event counter or elapsed time meter. Check to see if there is an event counter or elapsed time meter for the pump. If there is one or both, calculate the water usage rate and compare to the anticipated use listed on Design and Page 2. Dose Volume: 150 gallons: Pump run time: 4.3 Minutes Soil Treatment Area • Inspection pipes. Check to make sure they are properly capped. Replace caps and pipes that are damaged. • Surfacing of q luent. Check for surfacing effluent or other signs of problems. • Lateral flushing. Check lateral distribution; if cleanouts exist, flush and clean at recommended frequency. • vegetation-Check to see that a good growth of vegetation is covering the system. Here's what I found, let me know if you agree: 1. The original, proposed survey: a. States that the top of foundation is 993.5 b. States that the main floor is 994.7—this is a difference of 1.2 feet. This is wrong,we only have a .75' difference if you look at how our floor system is setup. This is a difference of.533 feet(just over 6 inches). With that known, I reviewed your other document that you used to determine/check the heights, here is what I find if I put in that new information. 2. The actual house foundation survey/your review checklist: a. States that the first floor elevation is 994.7+6 inches for a total of 995.3.As stated above, this is actually off by.533 feet. b. If we subtract out that .533 feet, the 995.3 will change to 994.76. c. When we subtract out the highest existing ground level of 990.9, we end up with a difference of 3.867 feet. d. Per the review checklist that you sent and my plans, the distance between the first floor and defined top of roof is 26 feet. e. When I add 3.867 to 26 I end up with 29.867 for the total height. Here is a quick image from our plans showing that we are only .75 feet above the foundation, it looks like the surveyor called that out incorrectly. I am glad you sent this, I don't think I have seen the original survey until today. Please let me know if you agree with this assessment. 2 O p i r IM1 1 MIN. R-20 r— MIN.
