RE: Grading and final inspections
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Van Dyke,
On January 11, 2005 The City issued permit#P08271 to you for an addition and on June 16,
2005 The City issued permit#P08814 for a pool. As we have discussed the result of these extra
structures have increased the impervious surfaces on the property and has increased run off on to
the neighbors property. As we discussed, some minor grading is required to direct this run off to
the street ditch. The City has also noted you have not had a final inspection on these permits.
The building code requires final inspections prior to use of structures to insure the safety of the
occupants and the Orono municipal code requires projects to have exterior grading and
landscaping to be done within a year of permit issuance. Therefore, The City must require you
to arrange a final inspection as soon as possible,but no later than July 28, 2006 and to complete
the final grading before July 28, 2006. If the deadline is not met The City will initiate legal
action.
