Hi Chris—
This is the bridge that crosses the ditch at 505 Willow Drive S. It does not trigger our waterbody crossing rule because it
does not impact the bed or bank. In fact,this is how we recommend that people build bridges if they do not want to
trigger our waterbody crossing rule.
You can see that the"wetland" being filled is not much of a wetland at the moment, and the amount of actual impact is
marginal.
Hope that clarifies MCWD's stance!

Hi Melanie,
I visited the site on Willow Drive this afternoon and do not think the bridge is an issue for MCWD.
However, I did notice that neither of the wetlands on site (delineated in 2008) have buffers established or buffer
monuments in place.We required buffers on these two wetlands for a previous permit and have a recorded declaration
and maintenance agreement for them. Does the City have buffer requirements at this site,as well?

Good morning —
Our inspector visited the property at 505 Willow Dr S yesterday in response to a complaint about a deck/dock being
constructed in the wetland. He did not have a camera with him but reported that:
"There is bridge being constructed across the"drainage ditch"between the two wetlands on the property. The bridge
platform is 15'9"x 8'wide with 6'x8' ramps on each end—supported by 4-3"steel pipes driven into the ground."
Do you want to take a look and see how/if the MCWD wants to address this before the City sends notice to the property
owner regarding the need for City permits and setback requirements? If not, we will send something out tomorrow or
Monday.
