The property is located in our 2- acre zoning district which requires a 30-foot setback from the side lot lines and 50-foot setback from the street lot line for the house and any extension of the house (i.e. the deck). The information submitted does not clearly indicate where the proposed deck will be constructed on the property. You have a couple of options. If the property corner irons can be located and our building inspector can verify your location, you can simply draw the proposed deck on a copy of the 2000 survey in our file. Or, if the property corner irons cannot be located the survey must be updated, by a certified surveyor, to reflect the current site conditions as well as your proposed deck before we can issue a building permit.
