The fees are divided into three categories: 1) City of Orono Connection Fees based on the original per-unit costs of the individual neighborhood project; 2) City of Long Lake Connection Fees based on the recently approved Utility Agreement between Orono and Long Lake; and 3)the Metropolitan Council-mandated Sewer Availability Charge (SAC). The Long Lake and Met Council charges are collected by Orono and passed on to the respective agency. The connection fees are as follows: $ 6,094.00 Orono Sewer Connection Charge 7,406.00 Orono Water Connection Charge 1,600.00 Long Lake Sewer Connection Charge (Pass-through) 1,500.00 Long Lake Water Connection Charge (Pass-through) 1,675.00 Met Council SAC (Pass-through) $18,275.00 (Due with application for sewer connection permit) Your contractor who will make the physical connection to the sewer and water systems must obtain connection permits from the City of Orono prior to making the connections. Those permits are $35.00 each. Upon connection you would begin being billed the standard Orono quarterly sewer and water charges, per the attached fee schedule.
