All lots were fairly similar in that they had permeable soils, but a high seasonal water table as indicated by mottled soils . Thus, shallow trench systems would be needed on both the prii ry and alternate sites of each lot. Also, interceptor draintiles will be needed in order to divert runoff water from the sites. The percolation holes were dug 6 inches in diameter and usually 18-24 feet deep in order to test the soils just beneath the surface layer. Also, if an interceptor drain lowers the water table, the drainfield trenches could be placed nearer the tested level. The soil borings were dug 6 inches in diameter to the 4 foot depth and 4 inches in diameter to the 6 foot depth in order to tO determine the water table and the soils under the proposed drainfield trenches . Once the individual house sizes and locations are known on each of the lots, a more detailed system design will be needed. Meanwhile, if any other information is needed, please contact me .
