Work Done; Identify an alternate site to located a standard drainfield if needed in the future . Four soil borings were done in the propsed drainfield area . These soil boring indicated the following results; 0-12-15 inches Topsoil ( Black Clay Loam --lOyr 2/2 ) 12- 29 inches Olive Brown Clay Loam --2 . 5 Y5/6 29- inches Olive Brown Clay 2 . 5 Y 5/6 Mottled soil was at the following depths SB- ! A Mottled soil at--2 . 7 ft . S.B. 2 A : ---2 . 5 ft . S .B. 3a=- " " "--2 . 0 ft . ORONO COPY ---2 .0 ft . Standing water was not encounter in any of the holes . Mottled soil is consider the seasonal high water table or or the restrictive layer that prevents the flow of water thru• out the soil . the Minn. Rules and City of Orono Codes require the mottled soil levels are between 12- foury-eight inches then and above ground pressurized mound system must be installed . This type of mound system is consider to be a standard drainfield according to the present codes . Therefore a mound system could be installed in this alternate site, if needed in the future. The size of mound system design will depend on the number of bedrooms in the house and the actual percolation rate encounter . This percolation rate will be determine in the future when the system is installed . *Note This alternate Site must be roped to prevent construction traffic from compacting the soil which will ruin the site , this must be done by the builder.
