You informed me that you purchased your property in October of 1993 with no knowledge that the residence was required to be connected to City sewer within ninety days of the availability date, March 24, 1993. As you had no previous knowledge that your residence was required to be connected to the City sewer by this time, I will allow an extension to your hookup deadline until June 1, 1994 provided that the septic system is pumped out as necessary to prevent surface discharge until the connection is made. During our telephone conversation in January of 1994, I indicated that you could make the connection to City sewer in the spring as the connection would be difficult in frozen ground. A connection deadline of June 1, 1994 has been established. If this deadline is not met, the City will initiate legal action. In January of 1994, you indicated that the repair would be made in the spring and to this date no permit has been issued for the connection nor have I been notified that the permit application is forthcoming. A permit must be issued for the sewer connection by August 6, 1995 with the work completed and inspected by September 6, 1995 or the City will initiate legal action. Several notices were sent requesting the connection to sewer. Mary had contacted me by phone several times to discuss your options. During our last communication in late 1995, Mary indicated that Joseph was having health trouble, but said the sewer connection would be completed as soon as possible in the spring. The residence has not been connected to the Municipal Sewer, nor has a permit been issued for the connection. A permit must be issued for the sewer connection by March 17, 1997 with the work completed by May 30, 1997 or the City will initiate legal action.
